Meet the Team
Tharon AndersonFounder / Director
Born and raised on Nantucket Island, Tharon is a small-town girl with a big sense for design. She completed her BFA in Interior Design from New England School of Art & Design in Boston, and launched her burgeoning design career in 2012 after working for acclaimed design firms such as Dell Mitchell architects in Boston, and Peter Pennoyer in NYC.
An eye for the memorable vintage details, she is always scouring flea markets locally and throughout her travels for the statement piece that will make the project truly special. Her unique skillset feeds her love of architectural elements, as well as working closely with builders and craftsman for a hands-on, customized experience. Her accomplished collection of work has earned her a place in one of House Beautiful’s 2017 Next Wave Designers.
A Long Island native who began studying Fine Arts at a young age, Katie always had a dexterous eye for art and design. Finishing her B.S. at the University of Virginia in Commerce, she also has a driving sense for the industry backend.
Interior design resonated with her as a field that would marry her marketing astuteness, creativity, and artistic ability, driving her to enroll in the New York school of Interior Design in 2013. Soon after, she joined Tharon Anderson’s studio, and has grown with the company for the past three years, managing many of Tharon’s projects to date.
The newest member to join Tharon Anderson Design, Carolyn, is from a sales background, adding another layer to the dynamic team. Coming from Ralph Lauren’s sales and planning department, she has a nuanced eye and an ability to see a few steps ahead. Originally from Atlanta, she always admired the beautiful, historic homes in Georgia, and relished any opportunity to travel and discover new sources of architectural inspiration. After graduating from the University of Virginia in 2015 with a BA in Art History, she added the next tier to her skillset— her Interior Design certificate from Parsons, where she focused her dexterities in rendering, space planning, and color theory.
